Admiral Taverns has reopened Middlesbrough pub the Miners Arms after a £310,000 investment in its Proper Pubs division.

The Eston high street venue has undergone a complete transformation inside and out in a bid to appeal to the local community and was opened on Thursday (18 May) in a ceremony attended by Jacob Wood MP.

Inside, the pub’s existing two spaces have been merged into one to offer a larger and brighter space for socialising. This has allowed for a dedicated sports and entertainment area to be installed, complete with flat screen televisions, as well as a new bar and updated furniture and flooring throughout.

Outside, the pub now has new lighting and signage to greet customers, as well as a refreshed outdoor space for visitors to enjoy all year round.

For opening night, customers enjoyed live music from local singer and artist, Micky Glamz, who performed a special rock show.

Operator of the Miners Arms, Nicki Jack, said: “Opening night was fantastic, it was amazing to see all our customers, old and new, coming to see what the pub has to offer.

“The feedback we received from our community was amazing and we can’t wait to see them again soon.”

Full sports package

The Miners Arms provides a wide range of drinks offers, including cocktails, wine and fizz promotions, well as a full sports package including Sky, BT Sport and horse racing. The pub will also host an annual schedule of events for the community to enjoy including Sunday games afternoons, as well as charity events in aid of the local foodbank.

Proper Pubs operations director Matthew Gurney said: “The refurbishment at the Miners Arms looks fantastic – the team has worked really hard to ensure it is a success for the local community.

“On behalf of the Proper Pubs team, we would like to wish our community hero, Nicki, every success for the future in making the Miners Arms a fantastic hub of the community.”
