The move sees Tall Tales Pale Ale Zero become available in 330ml bottles at Butcombe Pubs and Inns’ managed pubs now with a kegged version going live in May.
Tall Tales Pale Ale Zero is Butcombe Brewing Co’s second non-alcoholic beer, following its Goram IPA Zero variant, which the West Country and Channel Islands business said has “become a firm favourite and one of the most awarded non-alcoholic IPAs in the UK”.

Butcombe Group chief operating officer Jayson Perfect said: “It is fantastic to see Tall Tales Pale Ale Zero already going down so well in our pubs and online shop, with it being especially well received during dry January.
Low & no continues to boom
“The low & no market continues to boom so it is vital we maintain our position as major players, giving our customers choice and products they love all year round.”
Tall Tales Pale Ale Zero, named after a crocodile in Bristol, which was spotted in the River Avon back in the 1980s, is said to “deliver the same bold, juicy flavours as its alcoholic counterpart with prominent grapefruit and pineapple notes taking the lead, with touches of mango and passionfruit”.
Perfect added: “Tall Tales Pale Ale Zero holds its own and is already proving popular among beer enthusiasts looking for an authentic non-alcoholic alternative with real complexity and backbone.
Lfl sales boost
“Tall Tales Pale Ale Zero is a bold yet balanced beer lovingly created by our amazing brewing team who constantly strive to innovate and surprise.”
Last month, the brewer and pub operator posted a 7.8% rise in like-for-like sales in its managed estate, with Butcombe Group CEO Jonathan Lawson saying at the time: ‘’These strong results are a testament to our amazing teams and to our ever-evolving strategy that places customers at the heart of what we do.”
Butcombe Group, which encompasses Butcombe Pubs & Inns, Butcombe Brewing Co, Butcombe Boutique Inns, Liberation Pubs & Bars and Liberation Brewing Co, rebranded from Liberation Group in December 2024.
