BrewDog slashing pint price to £1.80

BrewDog cuts price of Punk IPA to mark 18 years of brew
On offer: the reduced prices are available for a limited time (BrewDog)

BrewDog is serving pints of its Punk IPA to mark the brew’s 18th birthday.

The offer is across the bank holiday weekend from Friday 18 to Monday 21 April in BrewDog bars in England, Wales and Ireland. In Scottish bars, the pint price will be £1.92.

For the rest of the month, pints of Punk IPA will be sold for £5 across all bars while £10 pint and burger vouchers will be available on four, eight and 12 packs of Punk IPA, which are redeemable at bars.

The brew has featured in the top 10 craft beer brands on The Morning Advertiser‘s Drinks List multiple times.

Beer data

The most recent data (12 months up to 5 October 2024) put Punk IPA in fourth position, having suffered volume sales falling by more than a quarter (27.9%) and value had dropped by 22.3%.

Last month (March), BrewDog appointed James Taylor as its new CEO as James Arrow stepped down for personal reasons.

The business said Taylor brought a wealth of financial and strategic expertise to the role, having overseen BrewDog’s finance operations during a period of significant transformation, including the return of the company to profitability in 2024.

At the same time, the organisation also revealed Lauren Carrol would become COO.

Company changes

She joined BrewDog in 2018 and was appointed CMO in 2022. Since then it has launched flagship beers including Wingman, Black Heart and Shore Leave.

Before BrewDog, Carrol held a number of project management roles at Stork.

May last year saw co-founder James Watt step down as CEO after 17 years at the helm of the business.

Watt, alongside Martin Dickie, created BrewDog from a garage in Fraserburgh.

In June 2024, Watt revealed he was launching a new business - Social Tip, which he described at the time as being in the “brand building space” with a focus on “building community and rewarding everyday people for genuine brand advocacy and love”.
