Mash Gang launches permanent core range

Those moderating their alcohol intake are the “new vegetarians” who will influence which pubs and bars their wider group will visit on a day or night out.

Low & no alcohol brewery Mash Gang has launched a new permanent core range of beers.

The trio of tipples offers publicans and bartenders craft beer in cans at a time when low & no alcohol products are becoming hugely popular, as cited by brewers at a recent BrewLDN event.

The beers, which are all less than 0.5% ABV, are Chug, which the brewer said is a “chuggable full-flavoured IPA with a delicious tropical twist, Mash Gang’s #1 selling beer”; Glug “a crisp lager with a touch of citrus being produced in the UK for the first time”; and Journey Juice “a fruited mango IPA with a lime and Tajin twist”.

Building on the brand’s reputation for beer innovation, the core range has been developed to “meet the most popular alcohol-free beer styles demanded by consumers and the trade”.

Mainstream appeal

Mash Gang said all variants use natural ingredients, are low sugar and contain less than 60 calories per can.

It cited The Portman Group data that claimed almost one in three (29%) UK adults now regularly consume low & no alcohol products, which “underscores the continued growth and mainstream appeal of high-quality alcohol-free alternatives”.

The core range is available in 330ml and 4x330ml multipacks “in response to demand for the most popular on and off-trade formats, and in bold, striking designs that will instantly grab consumers’ attention in bar and at the shelf”.

Mash Gang head brewer Jordan Childs said: “This new core range is all about giving consumers what they want – bold flavours, market-leading quality, alcohol-free beer in the most versatile and convenient formats.

Cutting-edge brewing process

“We have experimented with more than 200 beers in the past five years leading to our core range – refining our cutting-edge precision brewing process and using innovative yeasts, fruit purées, and a keen eye for texture.

“Mash Gang beers that don’t just compete with their alcohol counterparts – they redefine the category.”

Mash Gang began as a homebrewing experiment during the pandemic and said it focuses on “bold flavours, premium ingredients and a supportive community”.
