Significant revamps: Reddington Pub Company injects £2m into Nottingham sites (Reddington pub company)

Reddington Pub Company has invested £2m into the renovations of two of its four sites.

Both the Anchor pub and Tom Browns restaurant in Nottingham have enjoyed significant revamps, including upgrades to their food menus too and the multimillion-pound move will also create up to 100 jobs.

The Gunthorpe venues officially launched over the Early May bank holiday weekend (Friday 2 - Monday 5 May), welcoming some 1,650 at both sites and serving 280 oysters at Tom Browns alone.

Nestled on the banks of the River Trent, Reddington Pub Company said the Anchor is a family-friendly destination that offers pub classics with a modern twist, alongside a café and a courtyard while next-door neighbour adults-only Tom Browns delivers a high-end dining experience alongside live music and entertainment.

Reddington said: “Reborn after 16 years of dormancy, the Anchor is now a vibrant family-friendly hub, featuring a pub, café and courtyard, with a cosy and stylish feel.

En-suite guest rooms

“The menu is designed by Michelin Star Bib Gourmand chef Andy Goodbourn, well-known for putting his own stamp on pub classics with a modern twist, such as Nottinghamshire pork belly with wild garlic and chicken cream, as well as his Cromer crab and avocado salad with beef dripping croutons.”

The venue will cater for birthdays, weddings and corporate events. Plus, children can enjoy The Anchor Express – the pub’s own 18-seater model train. Running on the hour, it’s a free attraction that takes in the scenery and views in Gunthorpe.

The Anchor also features four en-suite guest rooms while entertainment includes quizzes and pie nights.

Meanwhile, Tom Browns restaurant will feature “big flavours, alongside live entertainment and music”.

Head chef Jack Pearce has curated a fresh steak and seafood menu, featuring dishes such as 21oz dry-aged côte de boeuf and sole meunière served in a brown butter and caper sauce.

Unforgettable experiences

Pearce said: “We’re not just elevating dining in the Midlands, we’re redefining it. Taking classic techniques and the finest, freshest ingredients, we’re blending them with a touch of creativity, crafting exquisite sharing dishes perfect for any occasion.”

Music includes live band and DJ performances from the likes of Urban Intro Band and DJ Jez Prince while on 24 May, Tom Browns will feature a live performance from Boyzlife.

The site will also host disco, Motown and soul singer Mollie Laine for a bottomless brunch event on 26 July.

Reddington Pub Company founder Sean Reddington added: “The reopening of the Anchor and Tom Browns isn’t just about opening doors but bringing a new level of culinary excellence to Gunthorpe and creating unforgettable experiences for both locals and visitors from across the country.

“Reddington Pub Company is committed to bringing the best in dining to The Midlands, and we’re thrilled to open these two new venues, alongside our already popular and award-winning pubs the Old Vol (gastropub) and the Reindeer (Nottingham’s first Michelin Bib Gourmand pub).”
