The third Electric Shuffle in London is set to open this weekend – and it will be the fifth in the UK and ninth globally.

Red Engine, which operates Electric Shuffle and Flight Club, has announced the King’s Cross venue will open on Friday (6 June).

Located close to the vibrant Coal Drops Yard, the new Electric joins sites in Canary Wharf; London Bridge; Leeds; Manchester; and Dallas, Austin, New York and Chicago – all in the US.

The King’s Cross site is 9,400sq ft and has a capacity for 400 guests with two bars and an outdoor terrace space.

Red Engine added: “It is finished with a retro-contemporary style, celebrating music and the history of its King’s Cross location. Turntables with spinning records adorn the walls, vintage electronics fill the shelves and there are nods to local nightclubs and radio stations from years gone by throughout.

“Electric Shuffle’s signature rotating neon turbine wheel also features. There are hidden surprises in every corner, including a disco toilet that will turn a trip to the loo into a party.”

The food and drinks offer includes cocktails, sourdough pizzas and sharing dishes.

On the latest high-tech version of shuffleboard, up to 16 people can play at one table, with connectable tables for larger group get-togethers and big events (from 32 to 400 people).

The aim of the game (there are four immersive games to choose from) is to score the highest by landing pucks strategically. Cameras track pucks to tally scores and capture replay highlights, sent to guests as a personalised story at the end of the night.

Red Engine CEO Steve Moore said: “After years in the making, we are so excited to be opening our newest venue. King’s Cross is such a vibrant, buzzing location, so we feel really privileged to be here. We can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been working on and kick off the summer properly.”

Further openings

In addition to opening two venues on opposite sides of the Atlantic within weeks of each other (Chicago and King’s Cross), the group’s Flight Club brand has also grown since the beginning of the year with new venues opening in Dublin, Washington DC, St Louis and Philadelphia.

Still to come in 2025, Red Engine’s franchise partners will open Cincinnati and a second Sydney location, while Red Engine is set to open Flight Club Newcastle.

The King’s Cross launch takes the number of Red Engine-owned venues to 23, increasing to 24 by year-end. Combined with franchise partner-owned and operated Flight Club venues, the total number will stand at 40.

The group added it has plans to open close to ten new venues per year and based on this trajectory, the total global Electric Shuffle and Flight Club estate will sit at more than 80 venues by 2030.
