The craft brewer is producing the 4.2% ABV beer on keg and also in cans.
Anspach & Hobday said the Pineapple Gose is a modern take on the traditional gose style and is infused with juicy pineapple.
The brewer added: “This beer balances the style’s signature tart acidity with a moreish salinity, creating a refreshing and flavorful profile perfect for summer sipping.
“A touch of Maldon Salt, sourced from the historic salt-producing site in Essex, adds balance and drinkability.”
Salty sour beer
To celebrate the collaboration, the Anspach & Hobday team, including co-founder director John Hobday, visited the Maldon Salt salt works, where they had the privilege of raking the iconic salt flakes at the historic facility.
This hands-on experience deepened their appreciation for Maldon Salt’s centuries-old tradition, which dates back to 1882 and is known for its “unparalleled quality and unique texture”.
“We are thrilled to release the Pineapple Gose brewed with Maldon Salt, a fruity, salty sour beer, which cherishes both the fantastic heritage of brewing and salt panning, bringing them together with a modern pineapple twist,” said Hobday. “[It’s] the perfect beer for refreshment in these long summer days.”
“We’re proud to collaborate with Anspach & Hobday on the Pineapple Gose – a beer that captures the spirit of summer in every sip,” said Simon James, product portfolio manager at Maldon Salt.
Top honours for London Black
“This partnership brings together two greats of British craftsmanship – our time-honoured salt-making tradition and Anspach & Hobday’s fresh approach to brewing.
“The result is a vibrant, flavourful beer that celebrates taste, creativity and the joy of sharing good moments.”
Earlier this month (July), Anspach & Hobday’s nitro porter London Black was crowned best beer in the We Are Beer Top 50 UK Beer Awards.
Paul Anspach, co-founder of the Bermondsey-born brewery that now produces its beers in Croydon, said at the time: “London Black is the lifeblood of Anspach & Hobday and is a distillation of who we are as a brewery and a business.
“As our contribution to London’s rich and diverse brewing scene, we are proud to be reaffirming porter as the original beer of London.”
