Red Engine, the group behind Flight Club and Electric Shuffle, has announced the opening date and location for its latest new site.

Flight Club will open its doors in November on 7 November at Eldon Square in Newcastle.

The latest addition, which takes Red Engine to a 38-strong estate, will have the semi-private oches that are a feature of the brand alongside plenty of seating options and an outdoor terrace.

Perfect addition

Flight Club co-founder and CEO Steve Moore said: “We are so excited to be making our way to the incredible city of Newcastle.

“It’s no secret Newcastle knows how to throw an epic party and at Flight Club, we pride ourselves on perfecting the art of the unforgettable night out.

“We cannot wait to kick off the fun with everyone in the city and we’re genuinely looking forward to the people of Newcastle showing us a thing or two about how it’s really done!”

The opening has been long anticipated, according to Eldon Square centre director Helen Cowie.

She said: “This much-loved brand is a perfect addition to the Newcastle social scene and we’re looking forward to welcoming people to the centre to enjoy this unmissable experience.”

Property plans

In February, Red Engine posted fourth quarter sales of £25.3m - a rise of almost a quarter year on year alongside plans to open eight sites in 2025.

Last year saw the business open four new sites - Flight Club Liverpool and Oxford and Electric Shuffle Manchester and New York (under its State of Play hospitality partner in the US).

Its Australian Flight Club franchise partner (NightOwl Entertainment) opened two more venues - one in Sydney and one in Melbourne.

The Morning Advertiser recently spoke with Red Engine boss Steve Moore in a Big Interview where he reflected on his career in the sector and outlined how the business was launched.

This followed Moore sharing his thoughts on what it takes for operators to succeed in the current economic climate.
