Healeys Rattler Zero scoops silver at International Cider Challenge

The Low & No Project

A Cornwall-based cider producer is celebrating after its alcohol-free variant scooped silver in the International Cider Challenge 2025 awards.

Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm won three medals in total at the prestigious awards event with Rattler Zero taking centre stage.

The family-run cider maker struck silver with Rattler Zero, which the business describes as “the innovative alcohol-free cider redefining expectations of the category”.

Meanwhile, its Rattler Peach cider also claimed silver while Cornish Gold completed the medal haul with a bronze.

The International Cider Challenge is recognised as one of the world’s toughest competitions, said Healeys, and added this year’s event attracted entries from 16 countries, with ciders subjected to a rigorous blind tasting by an international panel of judges.

Exceptional quality

Experts included producers, flavour analysts, cider journalists and independent retailers, making it one of the most respected awards in the industry.

Ciders are judged on appearance, aroma, flavour, mouthfeel and finish. Only those displaying exceptional quality and character are awarded medals. Healeys, which serves its ciders in Cornish pubs, gave comment on its award winners:

• Rattler Zero (Silver): A standout in the fast-growing low & no alcohol category, Rattler Zero impressed judges with its crisp apple character, refreshing balance and full-bodied flavour – a true cyder experience without compromise

• Rattler Peach (Silver): Launched as a bold new twist on the Rattler range, Peach wowed with its vibrant fruit notes, natural sweetness and juicy, thirst-quenching finish

• Cornish Gold (Bronze): A timeless favourite, Cornish Gold was praised for its rounded character, smooth mouthfeel and heritage-led craftsmanship – a cyder steeped in Cornish tradition.

Proud moment

Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm managing director Joe Healey said: “To bring home medals for three different ciders at this level is a proud moment for everyone here.

“It shows the breadth of what we do from the innovation of Rattler Peach and Rattler Zero to the timeless appeal of Cornish Gold.

“Above all, it celebrates the skill of our cider makers and the passion that drives Healeys every day.”

As ICC chair and cider writer Adam Wells noted: “This year’s awards were the strongest yet’ making Healeys’ triple win even more impressive.”

Healeys is stocked largely across the independent free trade and in regional St Austell Brewery, Stonegate and Punch pubs.
