Micro pub: The Three Jingle Bells opens at Flat Iron Square’s Yuletide Yard (Flat Iron Square)

Flat Iron Square has launched a new festive activation with the arrival of what is being billed as the world’s smallest pub, offering a Christmas talking point designed to draw visitors into its festive programming.

The Three Jingle Bells measures under 8 sq ft and can hold one bartender and three guests at any one time.

The pub is at the entrance to Flat Iron Square’s winter takeover, Yuletide Yard, and operates on pre-booked 45 minute sessions from Thursday to Saturday, with a £10 holding fee per person.

Micro venue

The micro venue serves two Camden Town Brewery beers on tap and forms part of a wider seasonal offer that includes live entertainment, Christmas themed cocktails and a dedicated street food line up.

The area has been dressed with traditional decorations and illuminated signage and is running a full schedule of activities to support footfall.

The installation is aimed at generating social media interest and incremental visits during the peak Christmas trading period, with the wider site offering additional seating and capacity for guests once their slot in the Three Jingle Bells concludes.

The activation runs until 22 December.

The launch follows industry interest in miniature pub formats. In October The Gropers Arms opened near Paignton, measuring just 2.3m by 3.3m and featuring a 140cm bar with seating for 10 guests inside.

In March, the Tiny Tankard installation showcased at the Northern Restaurant and Bar Show in Manchester highlighted the growing consumer appeal of compact, novelty led drinking experiences.
