JDW slashes prices at hundreds of pubs

JD Wetherspoon reducing drinks and food prices in its January sale
Discounted drinks: there are a number of options available in JD Wetherspoon's January sale (JDW)

Pub giant JD Wetherspoon (JDW) is reducing prices in its January sale including a pint of Worthington’s beer at 99p in more than 600 of its pubs.

The discount is running until Thursday 15 January and includes a myriad of drinks while food will also be priced lower than usual.

Drinks included in the sale are Coldwater Creek wine (250ml glass of Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Rosé, Merlot) at £2.99 each, Johnnie Walker Black Label (25ml including a mixer) at £1.99.

A number of low-alcohol and alcohol-free drinks are also featured such as Guinness 0.0, Corona Cero, BrewDog Punk AF, Stella Artois Alcohol Free, Erdinger Isotonic, Thatchers Zero, Kopparberg Alcohol Free and Gordons 0.0 Pink Gin, which are all £1.69 each alongside Beck’s Blue and San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa for 99p each.

Food options in the sale are an 11-inch Margarita pizza and crunchy chicken burger, served with chips or side salad for £4.99 each including a soft drink or £6.52 with an alcoholic drink.

Perfect time

Additionally, a choice of six jacket potatoes and three new gourmet jacket potatoes will be available in the sale.

For £4.99 with a soft drink, pubgoers will be able to choose a jacket potato with one filling (including tuna mayo, coleslaw, chilli bean non-carne, cheese, baked beans or roasted vegetables) or £6.52 with an alcoholic drink. An extra filling or side salad is available for an additional 99p.

JDW founder and chairman Tim Martin said: “Department stores and shops hold their sales in January so it is the perfect time to have sale in the pub too.

“The range of drinks and food on sale in the pub is aimed at suiting a wider variety of tastes.”

Large selection

He added: “We have included a large selection of low and non-alcoholic drinks. I believe the January sale will prove popular with our customers.

“As always, staff at the pub will serve customers responsibly.”

Last year (November 2025), JDW revealed it was set to open its first pub in continental Europe at the end of this month (January 2026).

The new-build site is at Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernandez Airport in Spain and will be named Castell de Santa Bàrbera.

In its trading update for the 14 weeks to 2 November 2025, which comprised the company’s first financial quarter plus a further week, JDW revealed like-for-like sales in the first 14 weeks of the financial year were 3.7% higher than the same period the previous year.
