RedCat Hospitality has reported “exceptional results” for the festive period for its estate of The Coaching Inn Group sites.

The business, which was founded and is chaired by ex-Greene King CEO Rooney Anand and also operates RedCat Independent Pubs, revealed The Coaching Inn Group recorded like-for-like (lfl) sales 11.7% growth during the two-week period across Christmas and new year, with 8.4% growth across the six-week seasonal period.

The group also reported volume and value growth on food, drink and rooms, as well as record guest scores for December.

The Castle of Brecon, Brecon, south Wales, and the Warwick Arms Hotel, Warwick, enjoyed high performances following large refurbishment projects, which were completed in 2025. Both sites “continue to exceed their business case assumptions supported by an overperformance on food and drink”.

Record weeks for sales

Meanwhile, RedCat Independent Pubs reported a lfl sales boost of 5.6% during the peak two weeks and 2.2% lfl sales growth overall for the six-week period.

Many of RedCat Independent Pubs’ sites achieved their record weeks for sales, with the Lion Inn in Boreham, nr Chelmsford, Essex, being a stand-out venue, with record sales of £215,000 in its peak week.

RedCat Hospitality CEO Richard Lewis said: “We ended 2025 on a real high, with December seeing some exceptional results across the group.

Extraordinary on all measures

“The Coaching Inn Group’s performance was extraordinary on all measures and grew on a strong base in comparison to a good Christmas last year.

“We’re really pleased with our performance in terms of sales, conversation and guest scores. It’s all down to our amazing teams for their dedication, execution and focus on giving our guests a wonderful experience over the busy festive period.”

Last week, RedCat Hospitality announced it was set to dispose of its managed pubs division to focus on offering a pubs-with-rooms operator.

The move will result in all 43 of its venues becoming one division under the The Coaching Inn Group title.
