Brooke joined Amber Taverns from Admiral Taverns, where he was managing director director of its Proper Pubs division, seven months ago.
Amber Taverns said the move is “with immediate effect, by mutual agreement with the board and the company’s investors”.
The pubco said since joining Amber Taverns, Brooke has overseen a period of strong trading performance across the estate, with continued resilience in a challenging market and further strengthening of the company’s operating fundamentals.
New processes and systems
Under his leadership, Amber Taverns has benefited from the introduction of new processes and systems that have further improved ways of working across the business.
Amber Taverns chairman James Baer will oversee the CEO responsibilities while its seeks to fill the role permanently and the company “continues to trade well and in line with expectations”.
The board and Amber’s investors expressed their appreciation for Brooke’s contribution to the business, and said: “Mark has led Amber Taverns through a period of strong trading and operational advancement.
“His leadership has helped to further evolve the organisation and prepare the business for its next phase of growth. We thank him for his commitment and wish him every success in his future plans.”
Excellent business
Commenting on his departure, Brooke said: “It has been a privilege to lead Amber Taverns and to work alongside a dedicated and passionate team.
“I am proud of what we have achieved together— further strengthening the operating model, improving performance disciplines and building on the company’s strong fundamentals.
“Amber is an excellent business with great people and I wish the team and the investors every success in the future.”
Amber Taverns, which is headquartered in Blackpool, operates about 180 freehold community, wet-led pubs, and is said to be a “leading value-focused pub group, uniquely focused on the hybrid ‘operator-managed’ business model with a strong sport and live entertainment offering”.
