Heartwood Collection IT director Rob Trippett has warned there’s a danger the amount of data available to hospitality operators right now can lead to businesses having too many KPIs.

Speaking at MCA’s Hostech Conference last month, Trippett said having ‘a less is more philosophy’ was now crucial to ensure teams aren’t “blinded by the amount of information they have to wade through”.

“We’ve got too much data,” he said, frankly.

“There’s a danger you can have too many KPIs and throw too much out at people, and they’re then blinded by the amount of information they have to wade through and decipher.

“Often there’s a less is more philosophy, which allows teams to target the information that’s important to them.”
