The initiative aims to raise £250k to support people across the licensed hospitality sector, while promoting wellbeing and strengthening community connections.
McKee became widely known after completing 365 marathons in 365 consecutive days, covering more than 9,500 miles and raising more than £1.3m for charity.
Community challenge
He will cover the full route alongside participants joining individual legs, community days and virtual challenges.
McKee said: “I’ve always believed that incredible things can happen when people come together behind a cause that matters.
“The Licensed Trade Charity does vital work supporting people throughout hospitality, and I’m proud to be part of a challenge that not only raises funds but also shines a light on wellbeing, resilience and community spirit.”
He added that he hoped his involvement would encourage more individuals, teams and businesses to support the challenge.
Joby Mortimer, director of charity operations at the LTC, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Gary to the LTC JOGLE Pub Run.
“His achievements speak for themselves, but what makes Gary truly special is his ability to bring people together and inspire them to believe they can achieve more than they thought possible.”
Sector support
Organised by the LTC in partnership with Strava, the challenge is supported by headline sponsor Lucky Saint, alongside Avani Solutions, Thatchers Cider, Punch Pubs & Co and Star Pubs.
The JOGLE Pub Run follows another major sector fundraising effort, with Hospitality Rides 2026 raising £403,000 for the LTC and Only A Pavement Away after 29 industry professionals completed a 400km cycle across Vietnam.
Community Days will take place at locations across the route, with hospitality teams, local residents and supporters invited to run, jog, walk, volunteer or cheer participants on.
A dedicated virtual challenge on Strava will also allow supporters across the UK to log miles and contribute to the campaign remotely.
The LTC supports current, former and prospective licensed hospitality workers through practical advice, financial assistance, health and wellbeing support, a 24-hour free helpline and an Employee Assistance Programme.
The charity’s work has also been highlighted through wider sector fundraising efforts, including Hospitality Rides, which has raised funds for the LTC and Only A Pavement Away.
In 2025, the charity said it supported 45,000 people through its network of experts and specialists.
