VIDEO: What’s happening with cider in city pubs?

As the weather hots up, a sure-fire way to get people into pubs is through cider.

The Morning Advertiser team hit the streets of London to visit a few pub operators and cider-makers to find out more about the category.

Umbrella Cider House is a cider-maker with a taproom on-site in Bethnal Green. Here, founder Matt Armitage talks about cider while filling kegs.

Then the team moved on to Covent Garden to speak to Steve Douglas at the famous Harp pub. It may be a small site but it packs a big punch.

Next was a trip north to Kentish Town to the popular independent pub the Southampton Arms where manager Glenn Murphy spoke about the latest trends.

Staying at the Southampton Arms, we caught up with Real Al founder and owner Alice Churchward whose company works with cideries and breweries from all over the countryside, delivering fresh keg, cask, bag in box, cans and bottles into the hospitality world.
