The beer will also raise money for charity with £10 from every cask sold being donated to the Licensed Trade Charity (LTC) and mental health charity Shout.

The cask beer will be brewed at Butcombe Brewery in Bristol, Hops & Glory and will launch to the on-trade in September for Cask Ale Week. It will be available for a three-month period until November only.

It has been described as: “A true celebration of great British brewing, produce and craft, this one-off collaboration sets out to unite farmers and hospitality workers around a shared purpose, to support the industries at the heart of British communities.”

Six British-grown hops

The partners said of Hops & Glory: “The liquid profile includes six British-grown hop varieties alongside premium Maris Otter malting barley and pure Mendip spring water.

“The resulting brew is a light, bright golden ale delivering vibrant aromas of juicy citrus, and gentle tropical fruit. On the palate, it offers a refreshing profile of orange zest, tropical fruit, and subtle floral notes, with a clean and crisp finish.”

Butcombe Group COO Jayson Perfect said: “We are incredibly proud to partner with Hawkstone on this fantastic English Ale, bringing our 48 years of cask brewing heritage together with their passion for great British beer, and the farmers that produce the quality ingredients used to make it.

“Cask ale is the beating heart of the great British pub and Hops & Glory is a true celebration of that tradition, brewed with 100% British ingredients, and celebrating two vital British industries in farming and hospitality.”

Hawkstone sales director Andy Cross added: “We’re passionate about championing British farming, so releasing a cask collaboration using 100% British ingredients felt like a natural next step.

Backbone of communities

“Together with Butcombe, we’ve created a beer that celebrates the very best of British brewing while supporting the communities and industries at the heart of it.”

It is not the first time Hawkstone and Butcombe have joined forces. Last year, both businesses’ beers were made available in each other’s pubs for the summer of 2025.

Meanwhile, LTC CEO Chris Welham said: “The hospitality and farming industries are the backbone of our communities, but those working within them face increasingly challenging times.

“This generous initiative will provide vital funding that allows us to continue delivering wellbeing support, expert guidance and financial aid to people across the trade when they need it most.

“Hops & Glory is a welcome celebration of great British brewing and farming, and serves as a powerful demonstration of collaboration that the LTC is honoured to be involved in, every penny raised will go directly to supporting our beneficiaries.”
