A joint £550k investment with Star Pubs will see the pub reopen in early November following a three-and-a-half-year closure.

The site, which is within walking distance of Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, will be refurbished over eight weeks and relaunched as an event-focused, family-friendly local.
The stadium is expected to play a key role in the pub’s future trading, with match days and other sports and cultural events seen as major opportunities.
Community hub
The pub will show live sport on Sky and TNT Sports and will also host regular live music, entertainment and quizzes.
The refurbishment will retain the pub’s late Victorian character, with a ground floor bar and first-floor function room.
The downstairs bar will have seating for 48, alongside a new pool table and darts area with halo-lit darts and an electronic scorer.
The rear garden, which seats up to 80, will also be upgraded with external TVs, planting, festoon lighting and refurbished covered areas under the railway arches.
Murray, who also operates Madden’s Bar in East Finchley and the Dog & Duck in Winchmore Hill, said: “Pubs have to work really hard to look after customers and become true local hubs.
“Our pubs have managed to prosper by embedding themselves in their communities and supporting them whenever they can. We’ll do the same at the Ship. It has the added benefit of being close to the stadium, and so can profit from all the events held there.”
Expansion plans
The opening will take Murray’s estate to three pubs, with the operator planning further expansion in the coming years.
He said he wanted to work with Star Pubs because of the quality of its locations and the support offered by the team.

The move comes as a number of small multi-site operators continue to grow selectively, balancing expansion with close control over standards, community connection and day-to-day operations.
