The menu focuses on sharing dishes and classic bar food with a European café and New York bar influence.

New dishes

Dishes include gildas, Lindisfarne oysters, Comté and honey beignets, tuna tartare, grilled merguez sausage, squash fritti, fried chicken with green peppercorn sauce and house crisps with crème fraîche and caviar.

The venue has also introduced two main dishes, a house burger with Lyonnaise onions and Comté, and bavette steak with bone marrow sauce.

A whole-menu option, designed for three to four people, is priced at £95, while a Tuesday burger night will offer a burger, house fries and a glass of Crémant for £19.

New cocktail menu

The food launch comes alongside Sister Ray’s new autumn cocktail menu, featuring serves including Blondie, Frozen Grasshopper, Platano and Pocket Money.

The venue has also made changes to the site, including new bar seating, a standing area, curtains and a recently installed GNK sound system.

Founder Chris Edwards said the food offer had been developed to match Sister Ray’s drinks philosophy.

He said: “Simple, classic serves, executed perfectly with the best ingredients available to us. We’re now in the position to bring this into fruition and launch our new kitchen service running every Tuesday to Saturday.

“This is all about great flavours and approachable dishes to share, discovering the kind of classical small plates you’d find in Paris, Amsterdam and New York in their bistros, cafés and bars.”

Edwards added the business had taken its time to find the right kitchen team and develop a menu aligned with its drinks offer.

Sister Ray is open seven days a week, with food available from Tuesday to Saturday.
