The primary sponsor of Norwich City Football Club, Woodforde’s has launched ‘Premier Pub Partners’ to offer Canaries fans pre and post-match entertainment at five city centre pubs in Norwich.
The Jubilee, Queen of Iceni, Lollards Pit, Compleat Angler and Great British Pub Awards 2019 finalist the Murderers, will offer drinkers in East Anglia the chance to win tickets for Premier League fixtures during fan events revolving around Norwich fixtures and featuring guest appearances from club legends.
The first promotion took place on the weekend of 5 October, with everybody ordering a pint of Woodforde’s at the Murderers entered into a prize draw to win tickets to Norwich v Aston Villa at Carrow Road that day – which saw the away side romp to a 5-1 win over last season’s EFL Championship winners.
What’s more, Woodforde’s partnership with the club’s fan media channel, Talk Norwich City, will see live podcast recordings take place at participating pubs.
The brewer, which offered free beer to season ticket holders on Sunday 23 February as the high-flying Canaries strengthened their grip on top spot in last season’s EFL Championship with a 3-2 win over Bristol City at Carrow Road, sponsors of the stadium’s Barclay Stand with its Wherry, West Coast Wherry and Norada beers available on match days.
“We’re proud to be a primary partner of Norwich City, and everybody is excited to have the club back in the top flight,” Woodforde’s commercial and marketing director James Armitage said.
“Our Premier Pub Partners will be the place to be for City fans this season, with unmissable experiences, the chance to win tickets before matches and, of course, great Woodforde’s beer on offer.”
Woodforde’s isn’t the only brewer with a top flight presence in the 2019-20 Premier League season, with Camden Town Brewery announced as the official beer partner of Arsenal Football Club in summer 2019, while north London rivals Tottenham have incorporated a Beavertown microbrewery in their new 62,000-seater stadium.
