More than 60 pub and hospitality leaders are set to take on a 270km cycling challenge across Norfolk next month.

Pedalling To Pubs 2026 will take place from 4 to 6 June, with riders cycling between Norwich, Thetford and King’s Lynn across three days, to raise money for the Licensed Trade Charity (LTC) and Only A Pavement Away.

The challenge follows last year’s Lake District ride, which raised a record breaking £110,000 for the two charities.

£250k raised to date

This year’s event marks the fourth edition of Pedalling To Pubs, which has raised £250k for the charities since launching.

Riders from across the pub, brewing and supplier sectors will cover around 55 miles per day, visiting pubs along the route to highlight their role within local communities.

Raising awareness

The second day of the ride will feature a “wear orange for hospitality” initiative, with riders wearing bright orange socks to raise awareness and additional fundraising support for the sector charities.

Polaris returns as headline sponsor for the third consecutive year, alongside support from Thatchers Cider, Lucky Saint and the British Institute of Innkeeping (BII).

BII chief executive and lead rider Steve Alton said: “This year’s 270km Norfolk route raises the bar once again. It’s a brilliant opportunity for pub and hospitality professionals to come together, push themselves, and raise vital funds for two charities that make a real difference.”

LTC chief executive Chris Welham added the challenge was about “far more than the distance”, while Only A Pavement Away founder Greg Mangham said the fundraising would help provide “real opportunities for people in need of a second chance in hospitality”.
