Punch licensee Marilyn Coleman-Mellins is celebrating after winning the first episode of Channel 4's Three in a Bed show.

The licensee of the Blue Pigeons At Worth, near Sandwich, Kent, was chosen from hundreds of hopefuls to be part of the programme, which invites bed and breakfast operators to compete against each other every week.

As part of the show, B&B owners take turns to stay with one another and pay what they consider fair for their accommodation.

The retro B&B, which boasts a Jonny Cash theme, with art deco rooms as well as vintage and Spanish themed rooms, beat two other finalists to the accolade.

Marilyn Coleman-Mellins said: "I've always wanted to do something special with the Blue Pigeons as it's such a beautiful venue. We've done it up in a vintage but bohemian style so it really looks the part.

"My background is in music promotion so I saw an opportunity to bring that to life here. We offer live music and entertainment nights with Rock 'n' Roll and Blues bands.

"We also offer jive dance lessons and even run a classic car and bike club for local enthusiasts.

"It is an honour to have won this — I'm absolutely thrilled!"
