Longshot, the business led by entrepreneurs Joel Cadbury and Ollie Vigors, has launched a new round of fundraising as it looks to raise up to £10m to expand its four-strong Bel & The Dragon brand.

The group, which acquired the chain from Orchid Group in September 2010 for a reported sum of circa £4m, has launched an Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) to raise the new funding that’s understood to have already been oversubscribed.

Longshot is eyeing individual sites and groups within the corridor between the A3 and M40.

It is thought to have already targeted one group as a possible acquisition.

The new fundraising comes after the group finished a £1.7m refurbishment programme of its sites in Cookham, Godalming, Reading and Windsor.

Cadbury said: “The menu is now based around the best of British, using seasonal and local food that can be shared. This is underpinned by the principle of the consumer getting value for money.

“Year on year we have seen an increase in turnover of 50% across the three sites that were open during
that period.

"We expect to exceed that figure this year.”
