St Austell honours top performing pubs
Jason and Debbie Manton from the Globe in Topsham were named 2014 Pub Managers of the Year while Tim and Liz Hore from the Victoria Inn in Salcome were awarded Tenants of the Year.
The Director’s Award – which recognises an individual or business which has made an exemplary contribution to the South West pub industry - was awarded to Steve Bellman and John Milan who operate several properties under the banner Inns of Cornwall & Devon.
St Austell managing director James Staughton, who presented the award, praised their passion and dedication and the consistently high standard of food, drink, accommodation and service - as well as their longstanding loyalty to St Austell. Their pubs include the Pandora Inn at Restronguet and the Mill on the Exe, Exeter.
A total of 19 awards were presented at the ceremony at the Great Western Hotel in Newquay last week.

- Training Pub of the Year - The Victoria Inn in Threemilestone
- Customer Service Pub of the Year - The Lifeboat Inn in St Ives
- Community Pub of the Year - The Logan Rock Inn in St Levan
- Food Pub of the Year (Managed)- Old Custom House in Padstow
- Food Pub of the Year (Tenancy) - The Cornish Arms in Tavistock
- Wine House of the Year - The Pandora Inn in Mylor
- Beer Pub of the Year (Managed) - The Great Western in Newquay
- Beer Pub of the Year (Tenancy) - The Kings Arms in Luxulyan
- Best Turnaround Pub of the Year (managed) - The Atlantic Hotel in Isles of Scilly
- Best Turnaround Pub of the Year (Tenancy) - The Seven Stars in Stithians.
- Marketing and Social Media Pub of the Year (Managed) - The Harbour Inn in Porthleven
- Marketing and Social Media Pub of the Year (Tenancy) - The Buccaneer Inn in Torquay
