Paul Pavli is to leave his role as managing director of operations at national pub operator Punch, MCA has learnt.

He will be replaced by former Greene King executive, Andy Spencer.

Pavli has spent 14 years with Punch, starting as a business relationship manager and working his way up to his current role, which he took up in April 2017.

Instrumental in the transition of 1,900 pubs to Star Pubs & Bars following the joint acquisition of the then-listed company by Heineken and Vine Acquisitions, Pavli stayed on with the now c1,300-strong business under the ownership of Vine.

He is leaving to pursue new opportunities.

'Valuable contribution'

Spencer was most recently group operations director at Brewhouse & Kitchen and before that spent 13 years in various roles at Greene King, including heading up its Metropolitan Pub Co arm.

Clive Chesser, chief executive of Punch, said: ”Everyone at Punch recognises and thanks Pavli for his hugely valuable contribution over many years with the business, and I am particularly grateful for his support since I joined Punch last year. We wish him every success in the future.

”We look forward to welcoming Spencer to the team.”
