Brewdog eyes partnership for London Farringdon opening
Brewdog, the Scottish brewer and pub operator, has submitted a licence application for a new site in London’s Farringdon in what appears to be a partnership venture with Danish brewer Mikkeller.

The application for the site on 34 Farringdon Road has been made under a company called Mikkeller BrewDog Limited, which was incorporated in the UK last June. Its directors include James Watt, co-founder of BrewDog, and Mikkel Borg Bjergsoe, co-founder of Mikkeller.

It has led to speculation that BrewDog could undertake a reciprocal deal to open in Denmark. On Mikkeller’s website the firm says that it’s going to open a new bar “together with great friend” in Nørrebro, Copenhagen. “Opening date will be in March and we promise that we will only serve the best and most crazy beer, booze and beer food you can imagine,” Mikkeller said.

Last year BrewDog announced that it had entered a partnership deal to open its first bar oversees, in the Swedish capital Stockholm.

BrewDog currently operates two sites in London - in Camden and Shoreditch. It’s believed that the company, which currently runs 10 bars across the UK, is looking to eventually operate about 12 in the capital.

Mikkeller currently operates a bar in the Vesterbro region of Copenhagen.
