Enterprise Inns pub celebrates 150 years
The celebratory day at the Ferry in Alveston starts at 2pm and will include a hot buffet, Morris dancing, live music, a raffle with an array of prizes to be won and a range of children’s activities.
Licensee Martin Tolley said everyone at the pub was looking forward to celebrating the anniversary.
He added: “We feel this is a great way of showing off our English country heritage and demonstrating how the country pub is alive and out there to be enjoyed. We even have our village historian, Brian Johnson, attending and he's still in contact with a relative of the original licensee.
Tolley explained that the day caters for the whole family, old and young and urged people to visit the pub, enjoy themselves and celebrate with him and the team at the Ferry.
Achievement
Enterprise Inn regional manager Helen Mckenna said: “It is a remarkable achievement for the Ferry to still be around after 150 years. As everyone knows, this anniversary means so much to all who visit the pub. The staff have worked extremely hard to organise the event, so on behalf of Enterprise Inns I'd like to thank them all for their efforts.”
Traditional
The pub say they offer a traditional British pub experience with a restaurant and family bar, a variety of wines, beers and spirits and a quintessentially English menu.
The Ferry used to be called the Exchange before 1967, when it had a complete makeover.
