New World Trading Company (NWTC) boss Chris Hill told The Morning Advertiser he wants to open six new sites a year.

However, the CEO did say this would depend on the locations available for the venues.

The MA500 club is open to multi-site pub operators and runs three nationwide events a year that include business-focused presentations from top experts and owner-operators.

Each event is followed by an evening networking study tour of new and exciting venues in the area.

He said: “We are in no rush [to open new sites], but doing them properly, making sure we get them right, in the right locations and with the right teams is more important than the number of sites we do.”

Big bank investment

NWTC announced NatWest was investing £23m in the group and Hill said the company was delighted to have secured the backing.

He said: “We are very glad to have received investment in our future rollout from NatWest.

“In total, it was £23m including a roll-out facility of £4m, which is NatWest’s belief in our future pipeline and we are looking forward to spending it on some exciting new sites.”

New site opening

NWTC opened a new Botanist venue in Didsbury, Greater Manchester, in November last year at a former JD Wetherspoon site due to open this spring.

It is the 12th Botanist venue and will offer a broad range of botanical cocktails, world and craft beers as well as a selection of gins.
