Operators affected
The Packhorse Inn in Longstone said its DesignMyNight system was down, leaving the pub unable to take new bookings or view existing reservations.
It told customers: “Please be patient with our team as every booking will have to be treated as a surprise until they fix the issue.”
The King’s Arms in Bexleyheath also reported problems with Collins and DesignMyNight and asked customers with existing reservations to bring their booking confirmation with them.
The disruption has also affected businesses outside the pub sector, with other hospitality and event operators reporting similar issues.
Major groups use platform
DesignMyNight and Access Collins are used across thousands of hospitality venues.
Major pub operators using DesignMyNight services include Fuller’s, Young’s and Urban Pubs & Bars, although The Morning Advertiser (MA) has not established whether their estates have been affected by the current outage.
The MA has contacted The Access Group and DesignMyNight for comment on the cause and scale of the disruption and when full service is expected to resume.
