The Redditch Beefeater will reopen as Redditch Forge, Bar + Block Winnersh will become the Oakdene and Bicester Brewers Fayre will trade as the Two Forts.

Meanwhile, Bar + Block Portsmouth will reopen as the Kings Dockyard.

Other sites include the Somerford, the Brache, Butterley Park, Honourable Pilot, Telford Lodge and Whitegate Inn, which will retain or adapt their previous names.

Common Table Group confirmed to The Morning Advertiser (MA) that all ten sites are scheduled to reopen before Christmas, although specific opening dates have yet to be announced.

The venues will undergo light refurbishments, with the group prioritising bringing them back into operation as quickly as possible.

Wider reopening programme

The update follows Common Table Group’s announcement in October that it planned to acquire 57 former Whitbread restaurants and one Premier Inn hotel for an undisclosed sum.

The group previously told The Morning Advertiser (MA) that its first sites were expected to reopen from mid-November, with all venues targeted to be fully operational by the end of February 2027.

The acquisition is expected to create 700 jobs alongside existing employees transferring from Whitbread.

Led by managing director Thomas Anderson, Common Table Group plans to operate the venues as all-day restaurants, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner alongside a speciality coffee offer from sister business Rodeo Group.

The business has said it intends to give each venue its own local identity while investing in refurbishment, menus and staff development.

Anderson told the MA: “We’re delighted to be bringing these restaurants back to life. They each hold a special place in their local communities, and we’re looking forward to welcoming guests through the doors again very soon.

“Our aim is to create welcoming places where people can come together, enjoy great food and drink, and feel part of their local community.”
