'China setback hits SABMiller'

Shares in SABMiller, the maker of Peroni and Pilsner Urquell beers, dropped 54p to £10.49 after the brewer said lager sales volumes fell 1.6 per cent in the three months to June. The London-domiciled brewer attributed the drop to a 5 per cent fall in volumes in China - Financial Times ​

Business Secretary, John Hutton, has said that bars and restaurants will no longer be allowed to pay below the minimum wage of £5.52 per hour using tips to top up the difference. He added: "We want to encourage employers to make it clear how tips are distributed so that customers know where their money is going." - The Independent ​

Whitbread is to exchange 44 large pub restaurants, mainly trading under the Beefeater brand, for 21 budget hotels owned by Mitchells & Butlers. September's asset swap will see the hotels stop trading as Express by Holiday Inn and join Whitbread's Premier Inn estate, boosting its rapid expansion by 1,245 rooms.
