Brewdog has launched an innovative way of driving trade at quiet times by using Wowcher.

The brewer and pub operator has offered discounted tutored craft beer tastings for two with the BrewDog Beer School.

Currently more than 4,466 people have bought the Wowcher deal for £19.99, a 50% discount. During the event experts will talk about the BrewDog story, brewing process and ingredients.

Customers will be allowed to try five different BrewDog Beers with cheese and meats to share. At the end of the tasting, there will be a quiz to see how much of a beer-boffin they are and those who pass will receive an exclusive pin badge and certificate.

The vouchers are valid on selected dates from 2 January to 2 April 2017. They are valid Monday to Thursday between 6.30pm to 8pm, and Sunday 4pm-5.30pm at 30 BrewDog bars across the country from Aberdeenshire to Brighton.

Only last month the controversial brewer was slammed for being “morbid and disrespectful”. Furious vegans called for The Vegan Society to remove their trademark from the brewer’s products because of its use of dead animal beer bottle holders. A petition with more than 30,000 supporters called the BrewDog move “disgusting”.

The brewer recently revealed plans to build a sour beer brewery in Scotland, just months after expanding into the spirits sector with a new distillery.

The brewer submitted plans to Aberdeenshire Council detailing the proposed facility, which would include the brewery, production office, a car park and a new visitors’ centre.
