Situated on Sutton Harbour, Plymouth, this opening marks the company’s eighth site since the inception of the original Stable in Bridport.

Nikki Cooper, co-founder of the stable, said: “The opening weekend was a great success and the team worked really hard to finish [the site] in time for Easter.

“We thought it would be busy as there was a lot of excitement building up on social media but with the sun coming out and the magnificent views of the harbour, people just flocked it.”

She added: “We easily achieved our covers target and it was great to welcome hundreds of locals and tourists through the door.”

Some of the pizzas on offer are based around historical local figures including the Sir Francis Drake; featuring herb roasted potato, Ticklemore Devon blue cheese, roasted Spanish onions, spinach, tomato and mozarella and the Barbican Blaster; featuring spicy local chopped pork, Naga chillies, garlic, red onion, basil leaves, mushrooms, tomato and mozarella.

Regular music nights will be held at venue, as well as Tuck in Tuesdays, when customers will be able to purchase a pizza, side salad and a drink for £10.

Fullers bought a 51% stake in the Stable for £7.3m last June, saying it saw “considerable potential” for expansion of the concept in the south of England.
