The Hereford cider, Symonds Founder's Reserve, is being launched in bottles to help boost sales of the brand via the on-trade.

The drink was launched as a draught-only cider in 2009 and distributor Jygsaw Brands is hoping the new 568ml bottle format will grow distribution by making the brand available to outlets that don't have the space or volume of cider sales to justify a draught option.

A new campaign will coincide with the rollout of the bottles to boost awareness and trial of the cider.

PoS and branded glassware will be available to the on-trade while a bigger media campaign for the brand is also in the pipeline.

"More and more consumers are demanding genuine cider brands rich in heritage and provenance, and Symonds Founder's Reserve enables outlets to cater for this," said trading director Michael Hardy.
