Scottish brewer Tennent Caledonian is to provide further loans for licensees stocking its beer to help with cash flow, re-financing and growth investment.

It builds on the £6m funding the company provided last year to offer support to the on-trade in 2012. The brewer has not revealed how much it is lending, but said that it will not be capped.

The investment will take the form of partnership funding and loans to a wide range of Tennent Caledonian customers across Scotland.

Tennent Caledonian head of business development Jim Young said: “Our goal for 2012 is to continue to strengthen our relationships with Scotland’s on-trade, and in this most challenging financial climate, it’s right that this includes financial investment.

“It’s to the benefit of everyone in the industry that we work together to build a robust and successful on-trade in Scotland, and Tennent Caledonian will this year manage a busy and increased programme of investment, supporting ambitious operators who want to grow their businesses and realise exciting plans, this year and in the future.”
