National Pub Food Challenge: Triple success for the Woodman pub
Rogers was announced as winner of Best Dish of the Competition at a winners’ lunch held at the Michelin-starred Royal Oak at Paley Street, Berkshire. He was recognised for his chef’s sample platter of home-cured meats which he creates at the pub.
Rogers also picked up trophies for Best Bar Snacks Offer, with dishes including wild boar Scotch egg, and Best Steak & Chips Offer.
The Best Business Innovation award was won by Nick Attfield licensee/chef of Adnams tenancy the Harbour Inn, Blackshore, Suffolk for his mobile fish and chips hut. The winner of the award was selected from all challenge winners and finalists.
Award winners in nine other categories, which celebrate classic British dishes, were also presented with their trophies at the event.
