London self-styled speakeasy Barts has announced the launch of countryside Aspall Cyder and salad cocktails.

The Inception Group owned site is offering three new cocktails; Classic Countryside Crunch, Blackberry Beets and A Cy-der Cucumber, each featuring a different variant of the Suffolk brand’s cider and a combination of fresh fruits and spirits.

Vincenzo Sibilia, head mixologist and area general manager at Barts, said: “Increasingly of late there seems to be a surge in interest regarding how cider is made.

“Given this and the fact that brands such as Aspall are even starting to package the drinks differently to reflect this cider/wine trend, we at Barts – keen to be the leaders of all sorts of underground booze related craziness - decided we too would start to treat the drink differently, using it as both a Prosecco style drink and cocktail mixer, offering guests a fresher and more delicate alternative to your average bottle or pint.”

Classic Countryside Crunch contains Aspall Premier Cru Suffolk Cyder, Tanqueray No Ten gin, celery, apple, fennel and sugar.

Blackberry Beets is made by combining Aspall Perronelle’s Blush Suffolk Cyder, Belvedere beetroot infused vodka, fresh lemons and pineapple juice served with a fruit salad of pineapple and beetroot.

Finally, the A Cy-der Cucumber cocktail contains a mix of Aspall Cuvée Chevallier double fermented cider, Belvedere vodka and elderflower cordial with sliced cucumber, strawberries and accompanied by a lettuce, cucumber and strawberry salad.
