A new brand launch this week included the reveal of a range of gadgets that can help pub owners increase keg yield and profits, as well as simplifying beer hygiene.

Bierpro, launched at Newcastle’s Aspers Casino on 7 November, was unveiled alongside a new product line to bar owners, managers and pub firms before it is rolled out across the UK. The new brand is a subsidiary of Phoenix ABC, a Sunderland based designer and manufacturer of automatic beerline cleaning systems.

Bierpro lead director and director of Phoenix ABC Margaret Mitchinson said: “We already supply pub and leisure chains, including Aspers Casinos, around the UK with products from our parent company.

“We have identified that some of our technology, such software we have developed, could be used in other industries, so decided to launch our pub equipment under a new brand to help differentiate our products.”

Mitchinson added that the new brand had allowed the company to redevelop their equipment and introduce a line of separate products, including the BierSaver, which help bars increase profits by allowing them to reduce wasted beer before line cleans. These are attached to keg couples prior to a line clean so that landlords can serve the beer they usually have to throw away, and do not need to be used in conjunction with automated line-cleaning systems.

“Our BierSavers are little gadgets that cost just £35, so we are breaking ground in the industry by offering such a low entry level price,” explained Mitchinson.

“We have trialled BierSavers and one pub in Gateshead is already seeing profits increase by hundreds per month through using them. They have told us that after a few weeks of getting used to them in their regime, they now have no waste or so little that they don’t record it!”

As part of the launch, Bierpro also announced DrainSafe – a plumbed-in system of cleaning beerlines that allows landlords to clean lines without having to pull cleaning detergent into buckets – which works alongside their new UltimateLineCleaner to clean up to ten lines simultaneously in 45 minutes.
