9 Fuller’s
Key personnel: Simon Emeny, chief executive; Mike Clist, tenanted director
The London-based brewer and premium pub operator had a strong year with a 10% rise in profits before taxes, off the back of growth in its managed arm, driven by food and accommodation. It opened London Pride, its pub at Heathrow T2, with a new Grab and Go food offer and spent a record amount on capex across the business. Fuller’s was a deserved winner at this year’s Publican Awards, crowned Best Tenanted & Leased Pub Company. Its recent £7.3m acquisition of craft cider and pizza bar the Stable was labelled an “excellent marriage” between the two companies.
