A new Tonight Josephine bar that opened on Friday 30 September has been renamed Tonight Sophie after a social media competition to rebrand the bar in the name of a woman was won by resident Sophie Turner.

Nightcap, which operates the brand under the Adventure Bar Group, launched the ‘Tonight X’ campaign to give the name over to an entrant for its opening night.

The idea was to nominate a woman to become the newest Josephine.

Sophie Turner will have the bar branded under her name, alongside new cocktail menus and an evening of VIP treatment for themselves and 50 friends and family. This includes 200 complimentary drinks for the group, a VIP booth, gifts and a group pass to one of Tonight Josephine’s bottomless brunch spots.

7,000 entries

In collaboration with local social news site ‘Best of Bristol’, the competition received almost 7,000 entries from across the Bristol area.

Out-of-home posters we’re also featured in 10 city centre hotspots, giving those walking by the chance to enter through a QR code to the competition landing page.

Adventure Bar Group founder Tom Kidd said: “We are delighted at the success of this campaign and congrats to Sophie on winning the chance to be our VIP Josephine for the night. There is a real buzz about this launch and we are so pleased to add Bristol to our Tonight Josephine portfolio.”

Harry Styles-themed brunches

The site is located on Baldwin Street and has a capacity of 320. It has an extensive cocktail menu and planned events include Battle of The Girl Bands and Harry Styles-themed brunches.

Tonight Josephine also operates three London venues and one in Cardiff. Owner Nightcap now has four sites across three of its brands in Bristol, which include The Cocktail Club on Corn Street, and The Triangle and Blame Gloria, both on Small Street.

Nightcap also operates the Barrio Familia brand and, under chief executive Sarah Willingham, Nightcap operates 31 sites in the UK including London, Birmingham, Exeter, Reading and Cardiff.
