Sheffield host is new FLVA president
Sheffield licensee Nigel Williams has been installed as the new president of the Federation of Licensed Victuallers Associations.
Williams, who runs the city's Ranmoor Inn, was elected at the association's annual meeting in Blackpool this week.
The Enterprise Inns lessee takes over from retiring president Dennis Griffiths who has held the post for the past two years.
The new president said he was determined to move the association forward in what was a challenging time for the trade.
"There are difficult times ahead for the industry but after a year which has seen a big increase in the association's membership we are in good shape.
"The trade is being hit from all corners but we will be entering the new year from a position of strength," he said.
New senior vice president is David Hawksworth, licensee of the Fox & Hounds, Northallerton, North Yorkshire.
Newly elected junior vice president is multiple lessee Michelle Dwan who operates three leased pubs including the Magnet at Castleford, West Yorkshire.
Dwan is in line to become the association's first lady president in four years' time.
