The first MA500 conference of 2021 is set to take place this month (Thursday 11 February) when we will be looking to help operators gear up for the year ahead.

During the online webinar, we'll be delving into how businesses can continue to grow in the face of recession and ongoing challenges, what the funding opportunities might be and how the future shape of pubs might be evolving.

In a first for the conference, after the online webinar we will be hosting a series of special roundtables with some of the speakers, in small groups on Zoom from 12pm until 1pm.

The MA500 business club is open to operators and runs three events a year that include business-focused presentations from top experts and owner-operators.

UKHospitality chief executive Kate Nicholls and legal expert from Poppleston Allen James Anderson will outline the state of the sector alongside the latest information from a Government and a licensing perspective.

Insurance specialist Steven Swift of Sector Associates will be talking us through the thorny issue of insurance in the wake of the failure of pandemic payouts following the Supreme Court ruling on insurers and advising how this impacts operators.

Multiple operators including Sean Donkin from the Inn Collection Group, Alex Reilley from Loungers and Gerry Carroll from new business Valiant Pub Company will outline how they have expanded their businesses amid the pandemic.

Stellar line up

Looking ahead, BrewDog’s James Brown, Yummy Pubs’ Anthony Pender and Zonal’s Alison Vasey will tell us about the shape of the future pub, taking technology into account with the rise of homeworking.

Brand expert Mark McCulloch will also reveal his thoughts how to market your business to stay front of mind with consumers despite lockdown
