An award-winning, food-led freehouse in a picturesque Pembrokeshire village near Fishguard has been placed on the market. The Wolfe Inn, on the A40 in scenic Wolf's Castle, is about 10 minutes drive from Fishguard and is close to a national park and beaches. Matthew Smith, of the Bristol office of Christie & Co, said the proprietor, Gianni Di Lorenzo, had operated the business since 1998 but decided to sell the Wolfe Inn after recently getting married. "Gianni is passionate about food and has many years of experience of providing great cuisine, wine and customer service," he said. "This has certainly paid off with the business having achieved a number of awards and accolades the most recent being Restaurant of the Year 2004 voted by the readers of the Western Telegraph and the Les Routiers Welsh Host of the Year Award 2003. "Gianni is a leading light in the Pembrokeshire Food Growers' Association and his sourcing of local produce and suppliers is a feature of daily-updated menus that won a Les Routier Wales 2002 True Taste Award." The inn is recommended by numerous guide books and its bed and breakfast accommodation has been given a four-diamond rating by the AA and a three-star rating by the Wales Tourist Board. The business also holds the Pembrokeshire Produce Mark which indicates certified use of local produce. "The Wolfe Inn is a beautifully restored, old stone-built and oak-beamed inn of immense character," added Smith. "The sale of this character food-led inn offers an excellent opportunity. With food accounting for some 70% of trade, the Wolfe Inn would be an idealbuy for someone experienced in catering." The detached property has public and lounge bars, three separate restaurant areas (seating for 72), three letting bedrooms (including a self-contained studio flat) and three or four-bedroom owner's accommodation. Outside are trade and private gardens and a car park. Christie & Co is seeking £445,000 for the Wolfe Inn's freehold interest.
