Graham, who runs the Plungington Tavern in Preston, won the Union Pub Company-sponsored award for the second year running in recognition of staff development at the pub.

Judges were particularly impressed by the way Graham had continued to develop the programme since last year. "He was clearly proud of the training that he had given his staff and the whole business reflected this, from the training certificates displayed above the bars in his pub, to the enthusiasm that both he and his employees showed towards training," they said.
