Licensees win a music makeover
Two lucky licensees have won live music makeovers worth up to £5,000 at their pubs.
Kirk Barclay, of the Prince of Wales in Tooting, south London, and Nicola Berridge of the Royal Oak in Taunton, Somerset, will get equipment plus expert advice on staging music events after winning the Music Makeover competition from PRS for Music.
To enter, pubs stated how they would use music to benefit their local community.
The winning pubs were selected by a panel that included Feargal Sharkey, of UK Music, and Rita King, deputy director of pubs and leisure at the BBPA.
Kirk Barclay said: "We're thrilled that we have won the Music Makeover competition.
"Music is so important to helping pubs grow and the prize money from PRS for Music will really help us develop our live offering."
