The Concept Hotel Group, the Cotswolds-based hotels, restaurants and gastropub operator, has collapsed into administration.

The group, acquired by Mark and Janine Vance in 2003, operates the Royalist Hotel and the Grapevine Hotel in Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire.

The 14-bedroom Royalist is said to be the oldest inn in England, with parts of the building dating back to 947AD, and includes the Eagle & Child gastropub.

The 22-bedroom Grapevine, which dates back to the 17th century, comprises the Conservatory Restaurant, La Vigna Brasserie and the Gigot Bar.

Simon Thomas and Robert Pick, of Moorfields Corporate Recovery LLP, have been appointed joint administrators. They are continuing to trade the hotels, while they are being marketed for sale.
