GT Pubs, the pub management company set up in the wake of the administration of the Publicana business in 2010, has itself been placed into administration.

The Norfolk-based company was formed by Richard Grundy and Howard Thornton, formerly of GRS Inns, and earlier this year took over the operation of the 10 sites that were previously run by Clover Taverns.

Martin Halligan, director at Live Recoveries, has been appointed as administrator to GT Pubs.

Clover Taverns, which leased sites from Spirit Pub Company, was placed into administration with Duff & Phelps in March.

Publicana, the Lancashire-based company, was set up in June 2007 to provide temporary landlords for failing pubs on behalf of pubcos such as Enterprise Inns, Marston’s, Punch Taverns and Greene King.

The company was understood to manage c.80 pubs at one point, including around 15 for Punch.
