The owner of London gastropub the Butcher’s Hook in Fulham, west London has opened another site.

The Butcher’s Hook is owned by New Zealander Gus Evans who previously ran London restaurant’s Deals in Chelsea Harbour and the Big Easy on the King’s Road before being appointed restaurant development manager at the Hoxton Apprentice in east London.

Head chef at the new site is John Stanyer, whose CV includes London restaurant’s Daphne’s and Launceston Place.

He has devised a classic British menu for the pubs second site, also called the Butcher's Hook, at Ravenscourt Park, west London.

The menu will feature salted marsh lamb rump with new potatoes, savoy cabbage and rosemary jus; roasted fillet of hake with wholegrain mustard mash, samphire and mussels in a white wine sauce and a squid and blood orange salad with crispy kale.

The pub will also feature a day meu of small plates that will include Welsh rarebit, potted shrimp and croquet monsieur as well as a weekend brunch menu and children’s menu.

A dish of the day special lunch menu will also be available for £11 which will include either a glass of house wine, a pint of beer or a soft drink.
