Hi-Spirits takes on Langley’s No. 8 gin

The small batch 41.7% ABV gin, made by the Langley Distillery in Warley, West Midlands, will be available to the on-trade through Hi-Spirits from May.

Launched two years ago, it contains eight botanicals and is hand-crafted and distilled to create a “smooth, lingering and robust flavour profile”.

The brand won a Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2014, and achieved a two-star gold in the 2013 Great Taste Awards.

It is currently available at Harvey Nichols and a number of specialist retailers, while on-trade stockists include Peach Pubs, Corney & Barrow, Gaucho and ETM.

Gin renaissance​

Dan Bolton, managing director of Hi-Spirits, said: “We’re delighted to add Langley’s No.8 Gin to our growing portfolio of partner brands. The gin renaissance among UK consumers shows no sign of abating and Langley’s No.8 further strengthens our gin range.

“As a classic English craft gin, it appeals to discerning consumers who enjoy great cocktails and mixed spirit drinks when they’re out in bars and restaurants, or at home.

Bolton added: “The fact that Langley’s No.8 already has such an impressive range of aspirational stockists gives us a very strong base from which to develop the brand further.”

Signature serves for Langley’s No.8 Gin include the classic Gin & Tonic, and the Gentleman’s Martini made with vermouth and olive water. Langley’s 008 made with elderflower liqueur and apple juice.

Hi-Spirits’ gin range also includes Broker’s London Dry Gin, Gin No.209 from San Francisco, Blackwood’s Gin, and King of Soho.

Other spirits among its portfolio include Antica Sambuca, Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Sebor Absinth and Fireball.
