Spirits sales in pubs are rocketing, so it’s time you looked at how to maximise sales in your pub. Whether you’re looking to polish your cocktail menu or premiumise your spirits offer, we’ve got it all at the Future Trends: Spirits event in London on 3 October

Spirits sales have grown by £111m in pubs alone over the past 12 months, according to recent data from CGA Strategy. In the on-trade as a whole, they have increased in value by 2.4% to £24.1bn.

New speaker

We’re excited to announce that Ben Branson, founder of non-alcoholic spirit brand Seedlip, will be giving a presentation on the new category he has discovered and how pubs can benefit from such products in light of increased customer demand for adult soft drinks.

But there are even more profits to be gained from the category, you just need to know how to get them.

The Future Trends: Spirits event (formerly the Spirits Summit), now in its third year, will take place at the Royal Institution, 21 Albemarle Street, London, on 3 October during London Cocktail Week (see booking details below).

There is no better place to gain access to pub-specific data, insight and trend predictions for spirits, which will be delivered by a host of guest speakers and exclusive interactive sessions.

First time this year

For the first time this year, attendees at the event will be able to taste and talk about cocktails created by distillers, varying from craft to major nationwide producers in the one-off Cocktail Cabaret.

Find out if the gin bubble is likely to burst or not and what the next spirits trends will be at the Gin Bubble panel debate. The panel will be hosted by renowned gin writer and educator David T Smith, who has picked a team of experts to predict what could be on the horizon. Smith will also be on hand to walk attendees through a tasting, featuring some gins that are bang on trend.

Delegates will be treated to CGA Strategy research, which will showcase top spirits and trends to help you grow your business. The effect of overseas trends will also be looked at by a drinks analyst from Euromonitor International.

Trendsetting interactive sessions will be hosted by headline partners Diageo and CCEP Schweppes, giving delegates the chance to immerse yourself in an experience like no other.

Associate partner Pernod Ricard will be on hand to deliver an equally tantalising session, which will have you thinking hard about how you can move your business’s spirits offer to the next level.

And the Wine & Spirit Education Trust is set to reveal research for the first time at the Future Trends: Spirits event on how staff education on spirits can boost sales.

Cocktail of the year

Finally, watch a panel of expert judges decide on the winner of the Great British Pub Awards (GBPA) cocktail of the year as part of the Diageo-sponsored GBPA Spirits Pub of the Year category.

Why attend?

  • Find out all of the latest trends
  • Hear lively panel discussions on trends and brand building
  • Learn international viewpoints and tap into ideas for what’s driving sales in other markets
  • Access exclusive research and understand more about today’s spirits consumers
  • Participate in a study tour of London’s best spirits venues after the event

Judges – and you – will see each of the finalist’s cocktails being made before trying them and deciding which one should be crowned winner and be served at the prestigious awards event at the Hilton on Park Lane in London on 5 October.

But the Future Trends: Spirits event doesn’t stop at the door of the Royal Institution. Follow us through the streets of London and let us lead you through some of the most innovative and inspirational spirits bars and pubs the capital has to offer.
